Lane Alexander
Lane Alexander is on internationally acclaimed tap dancer, choreographer
and teacher. Lane co-founded and directs the worlds largest annual festival
of tap and percussive dance the Chicago Human Rhythm Project and is currently
on the faculty of Columbia College.
Lane toured as a Principal and Soloist with Especially Tap Chicago,
Austin On Tap and the National Tap Dance Compony of Canada's International
Orchestral Series, appearing with Symphonies around the globe.
Mr. Alexander has received numerous choreographic grants, awards, and
fellowships, and has choreographed some of the great American musicals.
His choreogrophy can be seen on companies throughout the U.S.
Lane was featured in the motion picture Outtakes,
and has choreographed and performed for television programs all over the
world. Lane has appeared with such greats as Gregory Hines, the Nicholas
Brothers, Cholly Atkins, Prince Spencer, Peg Leg Bates, Jimmy Slyde, Savion
Glover, Brenda Bufalino, Dianne Walker, Sam Weber, Luke Cresswell among
others. He currently serves on the Chicago Dance Coalition Board of Directors.
